There are many ways to integrate GIS and Plone, ranging from the simple (Maps Product), to the more complex (PrimaGIS), with lots of stuff inbetween.
This page will eventually try to outline how to choose which products should make up your stack, based on use-cases that highlight the functionality of each.
For now, here are some basic instructions on how to get started with a few of them.
- Maps
- add lat/lon locations to your AT objects, get a google maps interface for free!
- Geographer
- compatible with Maps located products, you can also work with lines/polys, various projections, and more (shapely, rtree ...). Get your data Plone data KML/GeoRSS for free! [Geographer Home Page
- PrimaGIS
- Integrate actual GIS data (shapefiles, rasters, WMS feeds) into Plone. Combine them with your own GeoAware Plone Content types. Render them all in OpenLayers, or serve them out as your own WMS - for free!
